The Hakkasan group internationally launched Hakkasan Cantonese fine-dining. The Mayfair location is one of the two London locations, with the other location being in Hanway Place. The interior is modern, and during evening includes loud music to make it a place for people to mingle, and see and be seen. With your food by executive head chef Tong Chee Hwee, it is recommended to have a cocktail, with Hakkasan having various in-house creations. For those specifically interested in dim sum, there is a dim sum menu for lunch and a more serene atmosphere. As of April 2018, Hakkasan group launched a non-alcoholic drinks menu, that will also be available in the Hakkasan Mayfair, and globally over the coming year.
– Great for vegetarians –
The food was very delicious, with fantastic cocktails accompanying it. The dim sum in particular can be recommended. There are exclusive dishes and cocktails, only served in London, including “Grilled Wagyu rib eye beef”, “Seared scallop with foie gras sauce”, “Slow cooked Szechuan pork belly” and “Sautéed spicy okra”. Their menu “Taste of Hakkasan” that is available during lunchtime also caters to vegetarians, the “Signature Menu Vegetarian” is available all day (minimum order of two), and their a la carte is also very vegetarian-friendly with many vegetables and a vegetarian dim sum option.
As I visited in the evening, there was loud music playing which can make it hard to maintain a conversation, and could be perceived as too loud by some. While I have not been able to return yet, it is on my list at some point during the next couple of months.
